CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — Federal prosecutors have charged two men with possession of methamphetamine following arrests in Cheyenne that federal agents claim yielded several pounds of the drug.

A federal magistrate ordered 53-year-old Phillip Martin detained Monday on a felony charge of possession of 500 grams or more of the drug with intent to distribute. Defense lawyer Terry Harris declined comment Wednesday.

Defendant Thomas Aflague, 35, faces a detention hearing Friday in Cheyenne on a similar drug possession charge. Defense lawyer Daniel Blythe declined comment.

A sworn statement from a federal agent states Martin had about 9 pounds of methamphetamine when he was arrested Nov. 26 in Cheyenne.

Another statement alleges Aflague sold 2 ounces of meth to an undercover informant.

John Powell, spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's Office in Cheyenne, declined comment.
