A Cheyenne man is facing up to 20 years in prison after police say he robbed the Bank of the West in downtown Cheyenne Monday morning.

Fifty-nine-year-old Terry Jervah made his initial appearance in federal court in Cheyenne on Wednesday.

According to court documents, Jervah told an FBI agent that he was schizophrenic and that voices told him to rob the bank.

The bank teller told authorities that Jervah gave her a note that said, "This is a robbery, I have a gun, Give me money, No funny stuff."

Jervah made off with $13,024, but was arrested a few hours later at his home at 906 E. 17th Street.

Jervah's preliminary hearing is scheduled for February 13.
