A Cheyenne man died in a rear-end collision on Interstate 80 east of Evanston on Saturday, according to a news release from the Wyoming Highway Patrol.

Robert L. Hudson Jr., was driving a tractor eastbound on I-80 when he came upon another eastbound tractor driven by Shuujin Vanchig of Palatine, Ill.

Vanchig's vehicle was traveling slowing in the right-hand lane and was attempting to gain speed. Hudson's truck came upon the slow-moving truck and crashed into it at mile post 24 about 17 miles east of Evanston at 10:10 p.m.

Hudson, 54, was wearing his seat belt, but died from his injuries at the scene.

Vanchig, 39, was wearing his seat belt and he was uninjured.

The crash temporarily closed the highway.

Driver fatigue and/or driver inattention are being investigated as contributing factors in the crash.
