A Cheyenne man died in a one-vehicle crash north of Chugwater on Sunday, according to a news release from the Wyoming Highway Patrol.

Vincent Paustain, 21, was driving a car south on Interstate 25 when at 9:55 a.m. it drifted off the highway to the east at mile post 58 about three miles north of Chugwater, according to the news release from Sgt. David Wagener.

The car was overcorrected and traveled across both southbound lanes before it tripped and rolled multiple times.

Paustain was not wearing his seat belt. He was ejected from the car and died at the scene.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol is investigating excessive speed as a cause of the crash.

This marked the 19th highway fatality in Wyoming for 2016, compared to 48 fatalities during this same time in 2015.
