A 43-year-old Cheyenne man could face 36 years to life in prison after allegedly holding his ex-girlfriend at knifepoint and choking her unconscious.

According to an affidavit, Oliver Anderson and his ex got into an argument on Nov. 11 about a business trip she was going on.

Anderson then allegedly confined the woman in his bathroom, punched her, threatened to kill her with a knife and choked her until she passed out.

The woman, who was reportedly able to escape when Anderson later passed out, told a deputy that she and Anderson had been dating off and on since April 2016, and that the altercation was approximately the tenth domestic violence incident the two had been in.

She said that she had reported the first incident, but the Nov. 11 altercation was the worst.

Charging documents also allege Anderson violated an order of protection on Jan. 10, by calling the woman multiple times.

Anderson made his initial appearance in Laramie County Circuit Court this (Monday) morning and is charged with kidnapping, aggravated assault, strangulation, domestic battery and violating a protection order.

Anderson's bond was set at $30,000 cash. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 21 at 2:30 p.m.
