Brody Cress and his traveling partners drove from a rodeo in Medicine Hat, Alberta to Cheyenne overnight and on Sunday afternoon the Cheyenne East High graduate pursuing an advanced degree at Tarleton State University in Texas created a new page in the history books of Cheyenne Frontier Days. He is the first saddle bronc rider to win back-to-back championships at 'The Daddy of 'Em All' in more than 80 years. His championship round ride for 86 points gave Cress the title by a two-and-a-half point margin showing classic spurring form on Sunday in front of a decidedly biased, and loud, crowd. He signed the champion's bench afterward and will have a second spot waiting for him next year.
