Cheyenne Frontier Days Joins Other Rodeos To Help Stop Domestic Violence

The Cheyenne Frontier Days General Committee joins other top PRCA Rodeos along with Wrangler and Montana Silversmiths in support of the Man-Up Crusade and their effort to stop domestic violence. To support awareness for this cause, Tuesday, July 22, will now be known as “Man-Up Crusade Against Domestic Violence Day”. All park-goers are encouraged to wear purple on this day. Purple is the color used to show support of victims and survivors of domestic violence.

The Man-Up Crusade is a non-profit organization dedicated to establishing and promoting a public awareness campaign on issues related to domestic violence. This campaign was started by Sheriff Kieran Donahue of Canyon County, Idaho. Sheriff Donahue has seen first-hand the traumatic effects that domestic violence has on victims, their families and society as a whole. The goal of the Crusade is to reduce domestic violence in society and contribute to social change by promoting safe and healthy relationships through education, advocacy and funding community services and programs that share in their mission.

If you are a victim of domestic violence, it is not something you brag about, and for most they will hide it out of embarrassment. CFD is ‘Joining The Crusade’ to be a voice of awareness for those who cannot or are in fear of doing so.”
