CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — A Cheyenne woman will spend three years on probation for embezzling thousands of dollars from a statewide sportsman's group.

42-year-old Jaimie Baty was sentenced in Laramie County District Court on Monday after previously pleading guilty to one count of felony theft.

Baty was charged with theft in August after an investigation found she had taken more than $6,000 from Wyoming Sportsmen for Fish and Wildlife. The money went missing while Baty was serving as the group's treasurer.

Baty has been ordered to pay $4,470 in restitution to Wyoming Sportsmen for Fish and Wildlife, an amount that was agreed upon in a plea deal. She also has to pay more than $18,000 as part of a civil judgment reached in the case.
