A Cheyenne woman awaiting sentencing for kicking and injuring a cop was arrested over the weekend.

According to arrest records, 31-year-old Nicole Meza was taken into custody just before 1 a.m. yesterday (Sunday) on suspicion of public intoxication, fighting and misdemeanor possession of marijuana. She has since been released.

On September 28, Meza was convicted of injuring Cheyenne Police Officer Rebecca Juschka.

Evidence presented at trial showed Meza kicked Juschka in the throat when Juschka attempted to remove her from the back of a patrol car.

Meza is facing up to ten years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine. Her sentencing will be set before Laramie County District Court Judge Steven Sharpe as soon as a pre-sentence investigation is complete.
