A Natrona County woman will avoid prison time after admitting to her role in a drunk driving injury crash last summer.

Chasity Delrio was given a four-to-six year suspended prison sentence, with three years of probation, after pleading guilty to one charge of DUI resulting in serious bodily injury.

Natrona County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to a one vehicle crash on County Highway 116 near Midwest, in early August.

Both Delrio and her passenger, Michael Mondle, were not wearing their seat-belts at the time and were life-flighted to Denver for treatment.

In an interview with investigators, Delrio told them she had been drinking earlier in the day, smoked pot several days prior and estimated that she was driving at about 50-60 miles per hour at the time of the crash.

Investigators say Delrio had a blood alcohol concentration level of 0.19, more than twice the legal limit for driving.

Mondle ended up with a broken wrist and multiple broken bones in his neck and back as a result of the crash.

Delrio was also ordered to pay a $2,000 fine, but that was suspended, provided she complete her probation term.
