RIVERTON, Wyo. (AP) — Central Wyoming College is getting ready to start construction on a new health and science center.

The school plans a groundbreaking ceremony Thursday at 3:30 p.m. just hours before this year's nursing school graduates will be pinned.

The Associated Press reports construction won't actually start until Saturday.

The project is being paid for by both Fremont County taxpayers and the state.

County voters approved an $11.5 million bond initiative and state lawmakers voted to spend $6.5 million on the work.

The building was designed by a Denver architectural firm and a Colorado company is the general contractor. However, the school says most of the subcontractors are from Wyoming.
