CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — Democrat Mike Ceballos has raised about $100,000 more than Republican Jillian Balow in the state superintendent of public instruction race.

Campaign finance records filed with the Wyoming Secretary of State have Ceballos reporting $195,670 in funds raised by his campaign between Jan. 1 and Oct. 21. Balow reported about $90,400.

Reports show that Ceballos, a retired telephone company executive, received about $106,000 of his donations from himself and other family members. Balow reports receiving about $28,000 from herself and family.

Balow and Ceballos are seeking to replace current Superintendent Cindy Hill, who decided to run for governor this year. Hill finished last in a three-way race in the August GOP primary.
