At 8:55 AM Monday, Laramie County Fire District #2 was called to a reported oil well fire near the intersection of US 85 and County Road 222. The oil well was located ½ mile south of milepost 29 on US85 and 1 ½ miles north of County Road 222.

Smoky bars, restaurants, bowling allies or other businesses that will soon be allowed to resume smoking could return within Casper's city limits. Unless those who wish to keep Casper smoke-free, can convince the Casper City Council not to change the ordinance. The consensus is that with an increased number of smokers on the council itself, the indoor smoking ordinance ban will most likely be undone or severely weakened in Casper.

April 15, 2013 The National Weather Service has issued another winter storm warning through Wednesday for Casper and much of central and southeastern Wyoming.
With the expected additional snowfall, the city of Casper’s public services department expects to keep many of its city-employed snow plow operators busy.
