Theodore Roosevelt is coming to town, to help support Casper's Historic Bishop Home. Gib Young, who portrays the famed 26th President of the United States at Mount Rushmore and elsewhere, will hosting a progressive dinner and lecture on June 23rd.

The period dinner (you're invited to don early 20th Century clothing if you like) will begin at 5:00 p.m. at the Bishop Home, 818 East Second Street, with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres and "Mr. Roosevelt" will mingle with guests and be available for photographs. At 6:15 p.m. guests will be delivered to the Bosco’s Italian Restaurante for dinner and entertainment by the “Former President".

After dinner, "President Roosevelt" will entertain guests with his memoirs, talking about the development of the National Park System, his days in the White House, and growing up in North Dakota. He'll also take questions and comments.

The event benefits the preservation and maintenance of the Historic Bishop Home.  Here's more from the Cadoma Foundation:

"This historical gem on East 2nd Street was built in 1907 and is the first multi-story brick home built in Casper; Casper’s only home individually listed on the National Register of Historic Places and open for public tours; and the only museum focused on Casper’s urban history.  In 2008, the home was donated to the Cadoma Foundation for preservation as an essential historic site for community use."

An Evening With Theodore Roosevelt:

  • The cost of the dinner is $75.00 per person. ($40 is a tax-deductible donation to the Cadoma Foundation).
