Casper Police are investigating the theft of a large number of historical war items.

Investigators say sometime between June 25 and July 15, the Veterans Museum near the Casper-Natrona County International Airport, had a number of items stolen from its off-site storage unit.

Most of the items were original Nazi war relics, including flags, medals, arm bands and banners.

Also taken was a 1917 demilitarized hand grenade and a Desert Storm pattern camouflage boonie hat.

The stolen items are considered unique and hold not only a high monetary value, but emotional and historical value.

Anyone with any information about the burglary is urged to contact the Casper Police Department.
