A Casper resident is among 10 semi-finalist in a national competition looking for innovative ways to help kids lose weight. The End Childhood Obesity Innovation Challenge, from the Partnership for a Healthier America invited individuals across the country to submit ideas via short videos.

Casper's Katrina Lorenzen, has worked as both a personal trainer and as a student wellness coordinator with Natrona County School District and that's where she got the idea for FitNFlash.

"So I came up with this idea of trying to promote more physical activity in the class room and then I thought, there has to be something more to it. So I tried to tie a learning piece to the physical activity as well."

The FitNFlash idea has got Lorenzen into the semifinals. You can learn more about her idea and help her go on to the finals by voting at the End Childhood Obesity Innovation Challenge Facebook Page
