The Casper Police Department is looking for people who want to help crime victims.

The CPD victim response team works with law enforcement to provide victim services and crisis intervention.

Among the topics that the victim response team assists with include sexual assault, homicide, domestic violence and stalking.

Victim Services Coordinator Jim Holscher says the team helps the victims, while the investigators process the crime scene.

"We respond to the scene, and then our goal there is to reduce the stress, reduce critical incident stress, and to help give folks tools to process what they're seeing, and they're experiencing, so that they can then figure out later, what to do with all that information."

A 40-hour training session will be held on the weekend's on September 7th and 8th, as well as the 14th and 15th.
