Casper police officers will not be responding to traffic accidents which do not involve injury for the rest of Tuesday.

Roads are slick and officers are stretched thin as accidents pile up in town due to the snowstorm moving across the state.

So, anyone involved in a non-injury accident needs to exchange driver's license and insurance information.

Then head down to the Casper Police Department at 201 N. David Street from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to file a report. Accidents must be reported within 24 hours.

Despite the 'snow day' declaration, officers will still be responding to accidents involving personal injury, an intoxicated driver or three or more vehicles.

Police will also be showing up to assist disabled vehicles or accidents which occur under unusual circumstances -- for example, when a driver's license is suspended or a driver lacks proof insurance.

Please drive carefully. In this weather, a little extra patience can go a long way.
