Casper police on Tuesday arrested a woman who had allegedly battered her boyfriend on multiple occasions.

Alida Mattson, 26, was booked into jail on recommended charges of domestic battery and interference. Police also added a charge of assault on a peace officer after she allegedly threw a punch at an officer as she was being processed.

According to an affidavit of probable cause, two officers were dispatched to the 3000 block of Monte Vista Drive for a reported family fight shortly after 5:15 p.m. Tuesday. Mattson had flagged someone down and reported that she had been hit by a man who turned out to be the alleged victim in the case.

The alleged victim and two others were smoking marijuana when officers arrived at the residence. Through interviewing the three men, police heard that Mattson had recently assaulted the alleged victim, who had two blackened eyes.

The alleged victim told police that he did not want charges pressed against Mattson.

Mattson, in speaking with police, was extremely intoxicated and provided inconsistent details about the events in question. Mattson had a "large fist-sized bruise" on her left arm, and told police that the alleged victim had punched her several days prior. She claimed all of her actions were in self-defense.

Officers placed Mattson under arrest based on the injuries to the alleged victim and the similar accounts provided by the other two men. As the officers secured Mattson in handcuffs, she kicked one of them in the right knee. After being placed in a patrol car, she slammed against the cage multiple times.

At the jail, as Mattson was being booked in, she gave a breath sample which indicated her blood-alcohol content was .234, or nearly three times the legal limit to drive.

Mattson allegedly took a swing at an officer as she was being escorted to a cell. The officer was able to block the swing and prevent any injury.
