Nashville recording artist and Casper native, Pete Martinez has been invited to perform at the 70th anniversary of the World War II Normandy Invasion on June 6th, 2014, in Normandy, France.

Pete has been invited to perform his latest song "We Thank You" at the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial. Dignitaries expected to be in attendance include President Barack Obama, Queen Elizabeth II, Price William, Prime Minister David Cameron UK and Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany.

Martinez wrote the song for the Greatest Generation Foundation and will donate a portion of the proceeds of the song to the nonprofit organization. A multitude of veterans are expected to make the trek to Normandy for the anniversary as well.

Others performing include the D-Day 70 Memorial Wind Band which will be conducted a member of the US Army's 29th infantry division that battled in Normandy 70 years ago.
