Ahead of the Special Olympics Winter Games in Jackson next week, Special O' athletes meet Saturday on Casper Mountain.

Preliminary winter game events happen at both Hogadon and the Nordic Trails Center.

Alyson Harker, for Special Olympics in Wyoming, says all competitors must first compete locally before heading to Jackson.

"There's the giant slalom, slalom and Super G. There are glide events for the handicapped athletes. We also have athletes participating in sno-boarding, cross country skiing, and snow shoeing,"

About 60 athletes will take part this Saturday from about 9:30 in the morning until mid afternoon at both venues. Athletes then go on to Jackson Hole next week, Tuesday through Thursday.

If you'd like to volunteer, Harker says they can always use the support.

Contact Robert Peterson, 267 7224 to volunteer.
