A proposed bill that would nullify local gun bans in Wyoming gets a philosophical response from Casper's Mayor.

Casper's City Council passed just such a ban in December.

Mayor Kenyne Schlager says fortunately we all have a right to petition for what we believe in. In this case, all Casper city council members who supported the ordinance banning weapons in city meetings remain supportive of the decision.

"We believe that we made a choice that was for the best interest of the public to be able to come and speak their minds at city council meetings without having to be intimidated."

Schlager indicates that if the bill proposed by State Senator, Kit Jennings and State Representative, Kendall Kroeker makes its way through the legislative process, she would want to testify in order that the legislature could hear both side of the story.
