A Casper man will spend time in prison after admitting that he threatened his ex-girlfriend with a knife.

Natrona County District Judge Catherine Wilking agreed to a plea deal on Thursday that will send 20-year-old Lonnie Parham to the Wyoming State Penitentiary for the next four to six years.

Witnesses told police that Parham was wielding a knife and  threatening to cut people in the 1000 block of Saint Mary Street in early April.

Parham told investigators that he became angry after he found what he thought was evidence that his ex-girlfriend had been cheating on him with another man. The couple had recently broken up and Parham had returned home to gather his belongings.

Both Parham and the former girlfriend were on probation at the time. The woman was advised by authorities to move out of the house prior to the incident.

Parham pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated assault in June. He will receive credit for 165 days already served and will serve the term concurrently with an unrelated prior for forgery.
