Casper Man Charged with Pot Possession

A Casper man is in jail charged with possession of marijuana. 27-year-old Robert Kirchner was arrested on Friday night around 11pm.

Casper Police Officers called on an apartment on 10th street as part of an investigation of a stolen cell phone. There were 3 people there, including Kirchner, who rented a room in the apartment.

After questioning everyone about the phone, the officer says he smelled marijuana and asked to search the apartment. Only Kirchner wouldn’t permit a search, so the officer got a warrant, and in Kirchner’s room, he says he found a small vial of pot.

Kirchner was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance. He also has a prior conviction on the same charge.
