A Casper man is accused of multiple felony charges that could land  him serious jail time.

A convicted felon is facing a handful of violent offenses after an altercation with his ex-girlfriend.

At about one-thirty on Saturday afternoon, the Casper Police Department responded to multiple reports that a man with a gun had assaulted a woman at her residence.

Thirty-two-year-old, Zechariah Jones is accused of breaking down the door of Amber Roberts' apartment while brandishing a shiny 9mm handgun.

Roberts and Jones had been dating on and off since 2008 until she ended the relationship in November of last year.

According to affidavit, Jones kicked in the front door, pistol-whipped Roberts, then stole approximately fifteen-hundred dollars in cash, all while intermittently beating her.

Later on Saturday night, Jones contacted police saying he would come in on Sunday to talk about the incident.

In a police interview, Jones changed his story multiple times and stated that he never had a gun.

Jones was transported to the Natrona County Detention Center with two charges of aggravated assault, aggravated burglary, aggravated robbery, and felon in possession of a firearm.
