Casper police on Wednesday arrested a man who allegedly possessed methamphetamine and methamphetamine paraphernalia in an apartment where he lived with three children.

Gade Oldaker, 48, was booked into jail on recommended charges of misdemeanor meth possession and three counts of child endangerment by methamphetamine. He will likely make his initial appearance in Natrona County Circuit Court at 2 p.m. Thursday.

Charging papers say a police officer was sent to Seton House at 837 North Beech to assist the Wyoming Department of Family Services with a welfare check on three children and to obtain a urine test for Oldaker.

Oldaker, while drinking water in order to provide a urine sample, reportedly "exhibited involuntary and rapid body movement, bruxism and the inability to control his body," which the officer believed to be symptoms consistent with meth use.

Oldaker initially said he was not under the influence, then said he had smoked meth the day prior, then admitted to using meth earlier in the day and finally admitted to using in the afternoon.

A search of Oldaker's person turned up three unused hypodermic syringes, a clear plastic sandwich bag containing two grams of meth, a pipe and another small bag containing .24 grams of meth.

No other drugs or paraphernalia were found in the apartment.

Three small children living in the apartment were taken into protective custody and placed with their grandmother.

Oldaker was arrested.
