Fine music doesn't have to be stodgy, or pricey, because musicians from Casper College will present two free concerts, one on Thursday and one on Friday, both evening performances. Lisa Icenogle, information coordinator for Casper College, says the arts community is in luck because this is the time of year for students to show what they've been working on.

This (Thursday) evening's concert will be at Metro Coffee Company.

Concert Thursday evening:

"Jennifer Cowell is the director and she's our strings instructor up here, also our orchestra and chamber orchestra instructor and in addition to the chamber orchestra playing at the Metro, our soprano and vocal instructor here at Casper College Kristen Robinson will be singing Mozart's Exultate Jubilate and they'll also be playing some Shostakovich, Corelli and Mozart."

Friday evening's concert-recital will be in Durham Recital Hall located in the Aley Fine Arts Center at Casper College.

Concert-recital on Friday:

"This one will involve Jerome Fleg, who is our woodwinds instructor and Kristin Robinson, and she and Jerome decided to get together and present a vocal-instrumental recital and they are going to be presenting, as Jerome calls it, an eclectic evening of music, and what he told me was that the concert/recital will feature lots of short, colorful pieces for different combinations of voice, piano and clarinet."

Both concerts will be free admission, and both begin at 7 pm.
