T-bird red was unstoppable winning the final event of the Central Rocky Mountain Region college rodeo season to reach second place overall and a Casper College men's team bid to the College National Finals Rodeo next month. They earned 550 points at the Laramie River Rendezvous hosted by UW last weekend with a total for the year just ten team points ahead of Gillette. Sheridan's Generals won the region for the second consecutive year. Casper was led by the usual suspects on the roping side. Team roping heeler Trey Yates partnered with Gillette's Kellan Johnson won the UW event while T-bird bareback rider Zach Thomas finished second and tie-down roper Logan Brown, third. Head coach Jhett Johnson did a lot of pacing during the nail biting championship round on Sunday in Laramie and was justifiably proud of its outcome:
