The democrat challenging Cynthia Lummis for Wyoming's only U.S. house seat says his campaign theme is "Fighting for Wyoming Families".

"The family of the school teacher, the family of the worker in the coal mines, the family of the oil rig worker, what are the issues they're facing, what are their concerns. I think that should be the primary focus cause that's the bulk of the state."

Chris Henrichsen, a political science instructor at Casper College, originally from Maryland and in the state for the last three years, has participated politically since his teens. This is his first foray into politics as a candidate.

Henrichsen says he's creating his own path as a Democrat. He takes positions on Wyoming issues like support of the coal industry, that might surprise some.

Henrichsen holds a fundraiser and get together at the Casper Aquatics Center,  Saturday, September 29th, 6 to 9pm.
