Several dozen homes and businesses on the north side of Casper are without water following a main break.

According to the Casper Public Works Department, just after 1pm Tuesday January 29th, a 12-to-14 inch underground water main on North Lennox Street between Yellowstone and 'A' Streets sprung a leak.

Workers on scene estimate about one-million gallons of water has already been lost.

The cause of the break has not been determined, but corrosion is suspected.

The Public Works Department says it does not know when the water will be turned back on, or when North Lennox Street will reopen.
