City councilors in Casper will consider several alterations to the city's municipal code regarding animal cruelty and dog tethering at an upcoming regular session.

The code changes have already been approved twice by councilors.

The proposed code changes would strictly disallow overnight tethering within city limits. The new codes also disallow log chain use and the use of chains not proportionate to the dog’s size.

Dog owners would also be required to regularly clean the dog's tethering area.

The new ordinance is scheduled to be voted on for a third and final time during council's regular session Tuesday at Casper City Hall.
