Two Casper businessmen saw their dream of building a microbrewery downtown move along after a special Casper City Council meeting Tuesday.

Council set May 16 as the date for the first public hearing for a new restaurant liquor license and a new microbrewery liquor license for BrewStory, LLC, doing business as Frontier Brewing Company at 117 E. Second St.

While not a new license, council also set that same date for a public hearing for the transfer of a liquor license from Forward Development, LLC, to Love Holdings, LLC, doing business as Downtown Bar & Grill, 129 W. Second St.

Frontier Brewing Co. will be in the former Wolford Shoe Store. The Downtown Bar & Grill will be in the former Botticelli restaurant.

Tony Cercy is the manager of Love Holdings, LLC.

Todd Titus and Shawn Houck are the partners with BrewStory, LLC. They also are two executives with adbay.

After the short council meeting, Titus said Frontier Brewing will be a brewery, a tap room and a restaurant.

"For us it's going to be really important to bring in a lot of different styles, different varieties, primarily from Wyoming and a few from surrounding regions," he said.

People can get a glimpse of what the business will be when it holds an open house during the downtown Art Walk from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday, May 4, Titus said.

Besides the local licenses and permits, Frontier Brewing is going through the arduous federal process for being able to make beer, he said. The two brothers who bought the former Petroleum Club on Wilkins Circle for a microbrewery said in February they were going through the same hassles.

Titus and Hauck are still developing the menu for the restaurant, but they intend for the food to go well with local craft beers, he said.

In the coming months, they will be revealing more details about what they intend to offer regarding food and events Frontier Brewing will promote

"For us it's just important to have something that's local and downtown," Titus said.
