CASPER, Wyo. (AP) — Bars in Casper will be allowed to remain open longer on the day before the solar eclipse makes its way across Wyoming on Aug. 21.

The Casper City Council this week approved allowing bars to operate on Sunday, Aug. 20, from 6 a.m. to 2 a.m.

Normally on Sundays, bars must close by 10 p.m.

The eclipse is expected to draw about 25,000 overnight visitors and an additional 10,000 on the day of the eclipse to Casper.

A number of bars are hoping to open or complete renovations before the event.
