The Casper Area Metropolitan Planning Organization is turning to Casper and Natrona County residents for help molding its soon-to-be-updated 25-year long-range transportation plan.

MPO supervisor Andrew Nelson says area motorists, bikers and hikers can expect to see and hear several recommendations from the city and consultants during a public meeting scheduled for April 7.

“They should expect to see recommendations from our consultants on where new roads need to go, what roads need going to be improved, and they should come prepared with questions on how that’s going to affect them and how that’s going to affect the future of our community,” Nelson said.

Nelson says many of recommended projects may impact the Casper metro area significantly.

“There’s talk about a road that would connect Bar Nunn to the airport, there’s talk about an east belt loop, just like what we have for the west belt loop,” Nelson said. “In addition, there’s also other projects that will improve roads that are already existing.
