A Casper man accused of trying to hit someone with his truck is behind bars.

Twenty-one year old Carlos Barrera has entered a not guilty plea to charges of reckless endangerment and child endangerment.

Investigators say Barrera was picking up his children Saturday night, August 4th, when he got into an argument with the caretaker's family.

One witness told police that she saw Barrera get into a pushing match with another person, then Barrera got into his truck with the children, hit the accelerator and tried to run over the other person twice.

Barrera told investigators that he only hit the accelerator while the truck was parked in order to scare people.

Barrera is being held on five-hundred dollars bond awaiting trial, and could receive up to one year in prison if convicted.
