Electronic filing of campaign finance reports has been required since January of 2010.

How to do that is the focus of hands-on training sessions offered by the Wyoming Secretary of State's Office next month.

"The Secretary of State's office is holding trainings in seven locations around the state and encourage candidates for state legislature to register for one of those trainings."

State Elections Director, Peggy Nighswonger says they want candidates to have the technical know-how necessary to meet those obligations.

Campaign finance reports are filed online and are then available immediately in a search-able database that anyone can view, print, or download.

Space is limited and pre-registration is required.

Locations and dates for the training workshops are:

Laramie County Community College, (Cheyenne), June 6

Northern Wyoming Community College District (Gillette), June 11

Northwest College (Powell), June 12

Central Wyoming College (Riverton), June 13

Casper College (Casper), June 14

Western Wyoming College (Rock Springs), June 19

Sublette BOCES (Pinedale), June 20.

Training workshops will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Candidates, committees, and political party representatives wishing to attend are required to pre-register by June 4 by calling (307) 777-5860

or emailing campaignfinance@wyo.gov, with the subject line: Reservation.
