A Casper man who was beaten during a drug buy, will avoid prison time, after admitting that he stole from his dealer.

Thirty-one year old Cameron Ahadi was given a two-to-four year suspended prison sentence, with three years of probation, after he pled guilty to one charge of burglary.

Investigators say in June, Ahadi met 30-year old Thomas Phelps at the North Casper Soccer Complex to buy marijuana.

Prosecutors say Ahadi was in his car and was hit and pulled out of the vehicle by Phelps.

Ahadi claims he blacked out, and witnesses said Phelps beat Ahadi’s head into the asphalt, then went through his wallet and left the scene.

When interviewed, Phelps admitted to the assault, claiming he suspected that Ahadi had burglarized his place several days before the incident.

Ahadi eventually admitted that he broke a window, entered Phelps home and stole some marijuana, injuring himself on the window glass and leaving blood at the scene.

Phelps pleaded guilty to battery and is serving six months on that charge.
