The high school winter sports season recently started...and old man winter didn't do any favors for anyone traveling to the game.

Some bus drivers will be behind the wheel for a long time, taking teams across the state.

Lloyd Parker is a driver for Evanston High School and he had to take the basketball teams along I-80 all the way to Cheyenne.

He says driving in cold and snowy road conditions is not easy, but the school district helps him get ready for certain situations.

"We have mountain road training that we have to do, and then we have to put in so many hours. Thirty hours to start off with before we can do any on bad road travel."

Parker says it's usually up to the driver, to decide when conditions are too bad for traveling.
