Results of a feasibility study suggest Casper has excellent potential for a successful new and large conference center and hotel.

Jerry McClendon a partner in Strategic Advisory Group out of Georgia, told Casper City Council Tuesday that right now the city is losing the lions share of business in the state to newer, larger, facilities in Cheyenne and Laramie.

But, he says, in surveys they conducted folks indicated they want to come to Casper.

"This is the most positive survey I've done in my twenty year career."

McClendon says its about the central location and local amenities.

The groups final recommendation?

"This project should include a full service hotel, should offer meeting space comparable with Little America and be located in the downtown core."

That recommended lower-priced full-service hotel and conference facility could have a price-tag of around $30 million dollars.
