County officials working with landowners adjacent to the Bridle Trail at Rotary Park are optimistic.

Natrona County Parks Board Chair, Stuart Hill says negotiations continue in hopes of avoiding the possible closure of parts of the trail. One disgruntled landowner had indicated he may cut off access.

"I believe there was an owner up there that said he might cut it off on March 1st. I don't see that he's gonna cut that off. I don't see that issue right now, but we've got to keep moving forward as we are. We're trying to get some more of these pieces of land."

County and city officials have been scrambling to ascertain boundaries and rights of way in hopes of establishing accurate trail position. Historical rights of way are also being researched. The negotiations will hopefully lead to agreements that keep the popular trail at the base of Casper mountain easily accessible for public use.
