The vacancy in the Wyoming State Senate has been filled.

Thirty-year old Republican Brian Boner of Douglas, has been sworn in for Senate District Two, which covers all of Platte County and part of Converse County.

He replaces Jim Anderson who resigned last month, to move out of the state to spend more time with family.

Senator Boner says he'll be keeping an eye on the state revenue from coal production, since next year's legislative session is a budget session.

He adds that there was one bill that passed in the recent general session that might help next year.

"The value added bill is something that I have some interest in, being from an area that has lots of energy development, if we can develop and add value to those resources as an dependent upon our boom and bust cycles in Wyoming, I think that would be hugely beneficial, not just for Senate District 2, but for the state of Wyoming."

Senator Boner used to serve in the Air Force, and is expected to be named to several legislative committees later this week.

His seat will be up for election next year.
