The owners of prime elk hunting land near Casper say they've decided to sell the property to the owner of the adjacent ranch, a Houston oilman.

Nancy and Doran Boston told the Casper Star-Tribune  that they can't wait any longer for either the state or sportsmen to buy the 4,500-acre Boston-Davis Ranch. The owner of the neighboring Falls Ranch, Russell Gordy, confirmed he planned to buy the ranch but said the deal wasn't done yet.

The Bostons tried to get the state to buy the ranch they inherited to ensure that hunters had access to it and about 7,000 acres of adjoining public land. However, the State Board of Land Commissioners, which includes Gov. Matt Mead, decided against buying the ranch for the school trust fund in April.
