Interested in offering long-term free-roaming pasture space to, maybe, 2000 wild horses?

The Bureau of Land Management currently holds in long and short facilities over 45,000 animals and is now taking bids in hopes of finding pasture for those in short term holding.

"Specifically we're looking for ranches that could accommodate 400 to 2000 wild horses and under the contract this would be for up to 10 years."

Tom Gorey, BLM spokesman says the pasture should be accessible to the public and located in the continental U.S. He says the landowner may also be asked to provide access for one or two public tours hosted by the BLM during the life of the contract.

Bids are being taken until April 10th.

Bidding requirements are posted at http://www.fedconnect.net.

At the site,  click on "Search Public Opportunities"; under Search Criteria, select "Reference Number";  put in the solicitation number (L12PS00118); and  click "Search” and the solicitation information will appear.

Applicants must be registered at http://www.ccr.gov to be considered for a contract award.
