Big Machine Auction In Gillette

GILLETTE, Wyo. (AP) — Anyone who likes big machines will enjoy an auction in Gillette to sell off equipment belonging to a excavation company.

Hundreds of equipment items belonging to Larry’s Mining Inc. will be auctioned off Thursday by Ritchie Bros.

Company owner Larry Suchor is retiring and his two sons aren’t interested in taking over. So the excavators, d haul trucks, loaders, buckets and engines must go.

Suchor designed some mining equipment that changed the way in which the topsoil and overburden are removed in the Powder River Basin.

The Associated Press reports  that Suchor’s equipment operated in every mine in the basin, generally working four mine sites at any given time.
