Traffic was at a standstill with a mess on the highway preventing travel west.

Here's an update as of 11am Monday morning.

Listen Here:

Traffic was backed up on highway 220 west of casper this morning following the collision of a semi and pickup in the vicinity of goose egg road.

"Got a wreck down there, total blockage. Got bees and diesel fuel on the road."

Highway patrol officer Terry Vincent had traffic stopped and told drivers it would be "at least a half an hour" as responders worked to clear the road. That was at 10 o'clock this morning. Our most current with Hiway dispatch told us the highway remains closed.

Anyone needing to travel west on 220 out of casper will want to be aware of that stoppage that may still be in effect. Cars were backed up well into the west side of town.
