CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — Black bear hunting in most of the Wyoming and Salt River Ranges has closed for the fall season.

The Wyoming Game and Fish Department announced that hunters have killed their quota of bears in many hunting units in the area.

Black bear hunters are responsible for knowing whether a particular hunt area has closed before hunting there. They may contact the game department to check on certain areas. Hunters who kill a black bear must report it to the department within 72 hours.
