DETROIT (AP) — Falling gas prices and incentives such as zero-percent financing are persuading people to buy cars.

Chrysler and General Motors both posted sales gains last month. Chrysler says its U.S. sales rose 20 percent for its best November in 13 years. GM sales rose 6 percent.

Pickups and SUVs were among the top sellers for both.

The Chevrolet Silverado pickup was GM's top seller with sales up nearly 25 percent to almost 43,000. GMC Sierra pickup sales rose 57 percent to nearly 23,000.

Chevy Cruze compact car sales were up 26 percent to nearly 23,000.

Chrysler's gains were led by the Chrysler 200 midsize sedan with sales that more than doubled to over 14,000. Chrysler sold nearly 36,000 Ram pickups, an increase of 21 percent for its top-selling vehicle.

Ford's sales fell 2 percent as it lost critical truck sales. Its new F-150 didn't arrive at dealerships until the very end of the month. Nissan also reported lower sales as its Infiniti luxury brand struggled.

The TrueCar.com auto pricing site predicts that total U.S. sales last month will reach 1.3 million, up around 4 percent from a year ago and the fastest pace since August.
