It will be a warmer day across the Cowboy State today. A mix of sun and clouds and strong west winds will make for the more mild temperatures. Highs will be in the 40s and lower 50s today, with 30s for the high country
As far as the weather is concerned, the state can almost be split in two. Pacific moisture continuing to move up and over the higher elevations will continue to bring snow to our state's mountains for the next few days
Weather systems caring moisture from the Pacific and going up and over the higher elevations will bring additional snow to the western third of the state for the next couple of days. Scattered snow showers will develop in western counties later today and continue on Thursday
A weak frontal boundary will approach Wyoming early today. Winds will remain strong and gusty across east-central and southeast parts of the state. Winds gusting between 35 to 50 mph between Casper to Cheyenne and Cheyenne to Laramie through late afternoon
As a weak cold front continues to push through central and southeast Wyoming, there will be a few more snow showers through the morning hours. Roads will be slick and icy in spots that are shaded during the day, and across mountain areas (Casper Mountain and toward Laramie and the Snowy Range)
Winds will remain quite strong across southeast Wyoming, especially south of Casper and toward Wheatland and Cheyenne. Expect gusting in excess of 60 mph at times, especially in the more wind-prone areas
A rather active weather pattern is setting up for the next couple of days. Holiday travelers will have some snow and wind to contend with today and Tuesday. The state will see some some showers first in the west today, with then some snow spreading south and east Tuesday into Christmas Eve
Temperatures have become much colder in the wake of a passing cold front. Many locations across the state received light snow. Winds will increase, as air masses shift across the region, and there will be many areas of blowing snow through today and tonight
Today will be another gorgeous December day statewide with bountiful sunshine, not too much wind and mild, above average temperatures. Highs will easily warm into the 40s and 50s with even a few lower 60s in southeast Wyoming
