On Saturday, May 19th, Armed Forces Day will be observed at the Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery beginning at 11 AM.

Speaker this year is COL Rita Meyer, Wyoming National Guard (retired). COL Meyer also served as Wyoming's State Auditor before making a run for the Governors seat in 2010. She now serves as Vice-President of Rocky Mountain Power for Wyoming.

Master of Ceremonies is SSGT Tom Maffin, US Marine Corps (retired) and current Commandant of  the Marine Corps League. Others include Reverend Gordon Roe who will render the Invocation and Benediction. The Honor Guard will be provided by the Casper NCHS JROTC and the National Anthem will be performed by Mersadis Berella. The Pledge of Allegience will be led by Cecil Barnes President of the Natrona County United Veterans Council. At the conclusion of the observance, TAPS will be rendered by trombonist Bob Meloy.

The public, all active duty and retired military as well as any other veterans are welcome to attend. Also, all patriotic citizens are encouraged to fly their American flags to show their supprot for their military on this day.
