Sexual violence comes in many forms and can happen to both children and adults, male and female. April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month and the campaign centers on promoting healthy sexuality to prevent sexual violence.

"The goal of Sexual Assault Awareness Month is to raise awareness about sexual assault and sexual violence. To educate people and communities, schools and individuals on how to prevent sexual violence."

Jamie Chavez, with The Wyoming Division of Victim Services, says the Governor will recognize the campaign with a proclamation on April 12th, and later in the month, April 17 to 19, in Cody, the 2012 Wyoming Sexual Assault Summit takes place.
